Bingo Birthday Card

Drea here with a fun mixed media card that I made for my dad's birthday last week, using a variety of stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

The background was done with a light coat of gesso onto white cardstock, and stamped with the Bingo Pieces and Background Soup Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp Sets using a permanent black ink. Then I glued down some buttons and used a heavier coat of gesso over the entire piece. Once dry, I colored it with Distress Spray Stains, and realized a lot of my stamping had disappeared under the gesso. So I stamped the Bingo Pieces again with my permanent black ink, onto white tissue paper, and applied it to the buttons with Tim Holtz' Distress Collage Medium Vintage. Then I went over the edges and buttons with copper embossing powder.

I just used the numbers from the Bingo Card and colored them with Distress Ink. Then I embossed the edges again, along with the sentiment using the Sophisticated Sentiments Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set onto a strip of brown cardstock from the DCVW Neutrals 8 X 8 Cardstock Stack that I colored with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

The compass was paper-pieced with the Every Road Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set, embossed again in copper, including the mini brad in the center.

This card was so much fun to work on, and could be used for any occasion! Thanks for looking!

Sunflowers

We moved our clocks forward and spring is in the air--or is it?  This week much of the U.S. received winter storms or a major drop in temps so I chose to feature the cheerful Sunflowers stamp set from Red Rubber Designs to remind us spring really is around the corner!

I created a background layer with the Well Defined Backgrounds stamp set which is a large stamp set measuring approx. 4-3/4" x 8". It's so much fun to create a custom background for my projects with the added bonus of never running out of designer paper when I make my own!

For the greeting, I used Sophisticated Sentiments and tucked the sentiment layer behind the flower pot to ground the sentiment.

There are just a few days left to get 50% off when you spend $50 so head on over to the Red Rubber Designs store and fill your cart!

Be Fabulous Card

Sometimes things don't go as planned, like this card that I made featuring the Be Fabulous Unmounted Stamp Set from Red Rubber Designs! Originally I wanted to have a blue background, with this green one behind it, but after seeing the fabulous results that the Lindy's Magicals left, I decided not to use the blue at all. I did save it though, for a future project.

All of the black stamping is embossed with glitter, and colored with Distress Inks. Then for some dimension, I curled up the bee's wings, and popped up the main image.

I love how the larger border on the left matches the smaller one in the main image, and was done with the For Everything Unmounted Stamp Set!

Then I finished up the edges with Distress Ink (Pine Needles) and machine stitching, mounted onto a black card. Thanks for looking!

There's still time to take advantage of this great sale going on at Red Rubber Designs while supplies last!

Here I Am....

Hello, there! Today I get to share a card with you showcasing a fabulous background stamp set from Red Rubber Designs!

For today's card, I stamped the background stamp from Here I Am with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The background stamp is gorgeous with dimensions which easily fit an A2 size card.  For my project, I watercolored with distress inks and then die cut the layer into two pieces, a tilted layer and a heart shape.  One of the big appeals for me when creating my own backgrounds is that I never have to worry about whether I have papers to match!

This set comes with an "opening" sentiment and three follow-up sentiments for great variety.
