Pyramid Collage Tag/Card

Drea here, bringing you the heat today with this tag/card that I made using lots of fun stamps from Red Rubber Designs! The tag features the Pyramid Collage Cling Mount Rubber Stamp, using the postage image from the Fanciful Vintage unmounted set stamped onto the background of orange cardstock colored with water and Distress Ink (Candied Apple).

Then I colored a piece of white cardstock with water and Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, and Ripe Persimmon) to make the background for the Pyramid Collage stamp, and the other piece of postage sticking out using the Vintage Postage Cling Mount Rubber Stamp stamped with Distress Ink (Candied Apple).

I used water and Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, and Spiced Marmalade) again, to color the orange and yellow fibers that I tied along with my red fibers through the hole on top, where I embossed the Reinforcers stamp with gold, which is on sale and perfect for tag making!

After using the same colored Distress Inks to make the background of my card, I embossed the sun rays on top with the Rays of Hope Cling Mount Stamp using Ranger's Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder, which gives it some shimmer that you can see through to the background. You can also see a close-up of the machine stitching that I did around my card.

Instead of a sun coming from the rays, I embossed a medallion from the Grand Medallions Unmounted Stamp Set using Ranger's Gold Embossing Powder onto black cardstock, which I also used to emboss the script on the bottom of the card with the Vintage Backgrounds Cling Mount Rubber Stamp. To make the flowers, I used my inks again with flowers cut from white cardstock with my Cricut Expression using flower #34 from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge. Then I added some vintage gold buttons to the centers.

I used the Fanciful Vintage stamp again to stamp the dates on the bottom left with Candied Apple Distress Ink. Such a fun card to stamp and color!

Life so Big, Bright and Bold

Hello, friends!  A few weeks ago I shared a clean and simple card showcasing the beautiful Life So Big stamp set from Red Rubber Designs.  Today I am featuring the same stamp set but this time, I added several bright and bold colors!

I started with a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 watercolor paper and sprinkled turquoise Brusho Crystal Colors in the center then spritzed with water. After it was dry, I masked the center then sprinkled purple Brusho Crystal Colors, spritzed with water.  When the piece was dry, I cut it down, distressed the edges and layered it on a white base.

To finish off the card, I followed the steps of my previous project. I stamped, fussy cut and colored two butterflies, adhering one flat to the stamped image and for the second popping up the right wing for added dimension.

For a bit of sparkle, I added Wink of Stella to the butterfly and then just for fun I added glossy accents to the center.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

1920's Collage Tag

Hello, stampers! Today I'm featuring the fabulous 1920's Collage Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs.

I embossed it onto white cardstock, colored it with sprays, and distressed the edges. Then I machine stitched around the image, and popped it up onto my tag.

For the background of my tag, I used a stencil with gesso, and applied the same color sprays that I used in my image to spray over the gesso, once it was dry. Then I used those same colors again to color the small flowers that I cut out with my Cricut Expression, with the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge.

For each flower, I layered two flowers (#3) cut at 1", with a smaller bud in the center cut at 3/4".  The fibers were a little lighter than I wanted, so I used a yellow and purple spray on them to deepen the color a little.

Thanks for stopping by!

Life So Big

Hello, friends!  Welcome to our first post in June!

It's a little odd but I happen to love rainy weather.  I LOVE it.  It can rain seven days straight and I actually feel a bit sad that the sun shines on the eighth day. I know, really quirky, right?  Even though I love the rain I can appreciate a warm, sunny day and one of the things I love about the summer months is watching butterflies.  There is something so peaceful about watching them flit and flutter.  Butterflies are also among my favorite themes for my paper projects!

Today I am featuring Life So Big from Red Rubber Designs.
For my project, I chose the largest of the three beautiful stamps included in the set.  I kept my card clean and simple by stamping on the base of the card leaving lots of "white" space.  I colored the butterfly on the base of the card then stamped, colored, and fussy cut another butterfly layer.  I adhered the left wing and body to the base but added foam dots under the right wing for dimension!

For a bit of sparkle, I added Wink of Stella to the butterfly.

For the finishing touch I added twine at the top and tied a knot.

I hope this inspires you to get crafty!  Thanks so much for stopping by Red Rubber Designs Blog today!
