Happy Halloween Card

Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I'm very happy to feature these stamped and embossed images from Red Rubber Designs!

This card was made from black and white cardstock, and colored with Distress Inks. I used black gesso and a stencil to create the stripes, hand-cutting the zigzag border around it. Then I made a patch for each image using the Haunted Halloween and Be Scary Cling Mounted Stamp Sets. To add to the sparkle of the glittery, black embossing, I added touches of Stickles to each patch. I especially love the way it "lights up" the chandelier, where I used Orange Peel, Purple, and Lavender Stickles for the flames and crystals!

The wood banners were also colored with Distress Inks, where I embossed the sentiment combining "HAPPY" from the Contemporary Greetings Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set, with the Boo Dollar Rubber Stamp. Some of the images were layered and fussy-cut, like the skirt on this witch where I curled up her skirt.

Then I used decorative scissors around the edges, finished with machine stitching in black, and orange around the stripes. I finished it up with some fun buttons, stitched in different colors.

     Thanks for looking!

Thoughts of You...

Hello, everyone!  It's my turn to share a project featuring fabulous  Red Rubber Designs stamps!  Today I am showcasing the sensational butterflies from the Flutter By unmounted rubber stamp set and a fabulous sentiment from Caring Cards 1 cling mount stamp .

I created a background layer using Ultra Marine and a dash of Black Brusho Crystal Colors on mixed media paper by repeatedly swishing and tapping the paper in the watery ink.  The butterflies were stamped two times each and swished through the  ink once to add contrast to the background.  The butterflies were fussy cut and layered for added dimension.

The sentiments in Caring Cards 1 are single sentence stamps making them super easy to work with.

I love that I was able to separate the sentiment on this card without having to mask the second part of the sentiment and cut it apart!

I chose this particular sentiment because I am going to give the card to a new friend I met at our local park.  We struck up a conversation a couple of weeks ago while we were on the same path and we have been walking partners ever since!  When I think of her I most definitely smile!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Showy Strips Birthday Card

With sapphire being the birthstone for September, I thought some blue bling would be fitting for this birthday card, featuring some bold and fun stamps from Red Rubber Designs!

All of the stamping was embossed in black and white onto black and white cardstock, to draw the eye to the blue bling and hand-stitching. I filled the white circle with the Gift For You Unmounted Rubber Stamp Set embossed in black, and carefully lined up the gifts, embossed in white, onto my black card base.

The top and bottom strips were embossed with the Showy Strips Cling Mounted Stamp Set. On the top right corner, I used the So Splattered Cling Mounted Stamp underneath the flowers, layered and embossed with the Happily Grateful Stamp Set.

For the sentiment, I used the Sophisticated Sentiments Unmounted Stamp Set, and dotted my "i" with a touch of bling, adding a row of it below.

Here's a full view of my card, and I promise you that the white strip on the bottom right really is straight in real life. Lol! Thanks for looking!

Hello, friends!  Today I am featuring this cute little girl from It's Your Day Cling Mount Rubber stamps from Red Rubber Designs with a hand stamped background featuring Lotsa Dotsa.  You can find more cute kiddo images in the Wonder & Joy Kids Stamp Collection along with a great selection of Background Components cling mount stamps.

For my card, I gave the background a soft watercolor wash then randomly stamped the circle stamps with a Spring Color Box Ink Pad.

To color the image I stamped the ink pad on my craft mat and picked up the color with a paintbrush.  I added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the camera lens and flash bulb then finished off the card with a fabulous piece of ribbon my friend Janeen gave me!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and taking a look!!
