Tutorial Tuesday: Reverse Soot Stamping

For this tutorial you will need the following supplies:

Glossy cardstock - white
Rubber stamp of you choice
Clear embossing ink - any brand
Candle in a holder - taper is best
Cotton ball
Long tweezers or a clothespin
Clear acrylic sealer - spray

Step 1
Stamp your image onto the glossy cardstock with embossing ink.

Step 2
Light your candle.  Holding one corner of the stamped image with tweezers or a clothespin, pass the paper (stamped side toward the flame) through the flame until it is covered with soot.  Keep the paper moving or it will burn.

It should look something like this.

Step 3
Gently wipe off all of the soot with a cotton ball.

Step 4
Seal your work with a clear acrylic sealer.

Step 5
Create something with your newly made image .

Here is how I used mine.
