Dad's Vintage Birthday Card

Hello Stampers, and happy Thursday! I went vintage with my Dad's birthday card this year, having fun with some Mixed Media Stamps from Red Rubber Designs! The sentiment was embossed onto wood banners with the Contemporary Greetings Stamp.

But first I created the background with a stencil and black gesso applied to white cardstock. Once dry, I lightly went over it with some Prima Wax (Rich Copper and Bronze Age). Then I stamped all over with the Vintage Background, Postage, and Fly Fairy Unmounted Rubber Stamps, using permanent black and red ink, while embossing others. Along the edges and corners, I embossed the Background Soup Stamp, and colored it all with some sprays, finishing the edges with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

The tape measure was colored with Distress Inks (Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo, and Rusty Hinge), to which I applied black gesso to the Tim Holtz Measured Stencil. Like the black gesso on the background, I again gave it a light dab of Prima Wax (Rich Copper and Bronze Age), hand-stitching below it.

To personalize it some more, I added his mom and grandma's buttons that I was lucky enough to inherit.

Then I embossed the Postage Stamp onto black cardstock, cutting out the center, to frame a piece of white cardstock colored with sprays. I popped it up and added Prima's Patina Effect Paste to the chipboard numbers. The grid behind it was stamped with the Vintage Background Stamp and finished with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

To the edges of the base of the card, cut from black cardstock, I applied some Prima Rust Pastes, along with the brads on the wooden banner. TFL!

Charming Gardens Card

Happy Thursday! With Spring right around the corner, I wanted to feature the Charming Gardens and Charming Gardeners Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps again from Red Rubber Designs, since I hadn't used them since the blog post here, and they're so much fun to color! The sky was done with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, and the stamping colored with Distress Inks and Spray Stains. Then I finished the circle edges with Ranger's Verdigris EP, adding some to the fountain, watering can, and bucket. Finally I added some Glossy Accents to the water in the fountain, and puddle under the can.

The sentiment was embossed with the Sophisticated Sentiments Unmounted Rubber Stamp.

I used a resist technique by stamping the dots onto white cardstock with the Build A Background Stamp using Ranger's Clear EP. Then I went over the dots with my blending tool dipped into Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, which I also used to stamp the flowers with the Happily Grateful Unmounted Rubber Stamp, embossing the leaves from the set with Ranger's Verdigris EP.

Here's the result! Thanks for looking!

Masculine Feel Better Cards

Hello Stampers! Can you believe it's already March? I'm starting off the month with a couple of masculine cards that can be used for any occasion with a simple change of sentiment, featuring some Unmounted Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs. The Savvy Sayings Stamp gives you lots of other options for sentiments, including the one I embossed here, onto a smooshed Distress Ink background, framed with the Fabulous Frames Stamp.

The rest of the stamping was done on a coat of gesso, with the Gingham Background and Background Stripes Unmounted Rubber Stamps. I immediately washed my stamps with warm water and dish soap, and it left no trace at all of the gesso. Once dry, I colored with some LSG sprays, and finished by rubbing some Prima Metallique Wax on top , to reveal the texture.

I especially love the blues and silvers on this card, that I made for my uncle!

But I know my cousin will appreciate the black, grey, and silvers on this one!

Some machine stitching and distressed edges, make for even more texture, making them more masculine. Thanks for looking!
