Majestic Mountain Mixed Media Frame

Happy Thursday Stampers! I'm back this week with a mixed media frame that I made from a pizza box featuring the Majestic Mountain Unmounted Rubber Stamp from Red Rubber Designs!

Since the pizza box already had a little tab on it, I made it the center of my frame, and placed it on top with a large eyelet through it. After tearing the top layer, I applied some white gesso to it, and waited for it to dry. Then I colored it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals, which completely soaked and warped the cardboard. But as it started to dry it actually warped back into place, with the help of some heavy books placed over it. The water did remove the back though, making the frame flimsy, so I mounted it onto a heavy black matte board.

The flowers and stamping were also colored with Magicals, using the same colors from the frame. Then I fussy-cut and popped up the birds, stamped with the All Things of Nature stamp set, and gave their eyes a dot of black puffy paint.

The Magicals themselves have lots of sparkle, but I enhanced the birds and water with some clear Wink of Stella. Then I added the sentiment on the bottom with the Hope Perches Unmounted Rubber Stamp.

One of the main reasons why I chose the Majestic Mountain stamp, was to try reflective stamping. After stamping the image on top, I stamped it again onto acetate and flipped the design underneath, rubbing it onto the paper. I finally got the results I wanted after a few tries, and will definitely be doing it again. I hope I've sent you a little inspiration using these beautiful stamps from Red Rubber Designs!
