Charming Gardens Birthday Card

Hello Stampers! Drea here with a birthday card featuring the Charming Gardens and Charming Gardeners Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps from Red Rubber Designs! The sentiment was stamped with the Darling Unmounted Rubber Stamp using Starry Night Palette Ink.

I started by cutting a window frame from kraft board that measures 3 1/2" X 7" on the outside, making the inner window panes at 2" X 3". Then I covered it with a coat of white gesso using a popsicle stick. Once dry, I applied several coats of paint with a fairly dry brush, waiting for each coat of paint to dry in between coats. Finally, I  lightly went over it with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

It's hard to tell by the photo, but I did attach some clear acetate to the back of my frame to complete my window. Then I stamped the garden images onto white cardstock using Burnt Umber Palette Ink, which is permanent, so that I could color my scene with Distress Inks, water, and sprays, and not worry about the images bleeding or blurring. Before attaching my window down, I added a strip of fencing that I got from my border punch.

The background was spritzed with green and blue sprays onto white cardstock, and the bricks were done with a stencil and white gesso, painted with three different shades of grey. I just love these DIY flowers, and colored the pink one with Glimmer Mist, and the one below it with Distress Inks (Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint, and Mowed Lawn). I also used Shaded Lilac to color the lace, making a loop, before machine stitching it down. Then I had to sprinkle a few vintage buttons around.

Thanks for looking and stopping by today!
