Sew Thoughtful Card

I really have a passion for sewing, and absolutely LOVE the Sew Thoughtful and Sew Thankful Cling Mounted Stamps from Red Rubber Designs! It's been a long time since I've actually sewn with fabric, but played around with some black lace and pink organza to make this skirt and corset to put on my mannequin, which I embossed in silver.

The skirt was just glued together, but the corset was stitched on the sides to give it some shape. Then I cut it in half along the front, and hand-stitched the lacing.

The background of the card was made with a sheet of older Basic Grey "Lucille" paper, which I cut and collaged together using some clear gesso. Then I sprayed it with some pinks and silvers, distressed the edges, and sewed the black zigzags with my sewing machine.

The stamped sewing machine, scissors, and sentiment were embossed in black. Then I colored the sewing machine, scissors, and part of the mannequin with Distress Spray Stain (Brushed Pewter). Both stamp sets include buttons, but I used real ones instead for a little dimension.

Thanks SEW much for your visit!

Butterflies Are Free

Hello, everyone!  This time of year is always exciting at our house as we finish up the last few weeks of school and get ready to celebrate summer but this year it's extra special as our oldest graduates High School next week!  It's hard to take in!

The Butterflies are Free stamp set from Red Rubber Designs is a great set  for a summer celebration project!  Three stamps are included in this set, The main image, a clear jar and a pair of butterflies.  After stamping the main image I stamped the cute little jar on a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut so that I could place it on the left side of my sweet girl.  I added a few clumps of grass with pen and marker underneath the jar to match the rest of the tufts of grass in the image.

For the butterfly, I stamped it twice on the same checked designer paper as the border and layered the wings, adhering the top layer just in the center so the butterfly is free to fly!

A cheerful yellow border and matching paper pieced dress finish off the card.

Thanks so much for spending a bit of your time with us today!

Abounding Rose Sympathy Card

Unfortunately I had to make this sympathy card, but found the Abounding Rose Cling Mount Stamp to be a beautiful and serene image for the occasion. The cracks on the background remind me of stained glass, so I embossed the image and colored it with watercolors, using some pop dots to raise it up a little.

I also embossed the sentiment using the Joyful Notes Unmounted Stamp onto a strip of pink vellum. Then I added some sheer blue ribbon across the bottom.

I used the same colors from my image to make the watercolor background, and backed it with some layers of cardstock.

Thanks for looking, and have a wonderful day!

See a Rainbow on the Way

Hello, friends!  Today I have a little twist on a sunbeam card!  I was inspired by a couple of earth day challenges I saw last week and pulled out my Rays of Hope stamp from Red Rubber Designs.

Since I chose this inspirational sentiment from Wherever You Go with the mention of the chance to see a rainbow, I decided that I would forgo traditional yellow/orange sun rays and add a rainbow of beams.

I painted between the beams with gelatos then finished off the project with
clouds and a wood veneer bird.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, now here's one more look at the stamp sets I featured in this project.

Happy Stamping!
