Hello Day!

Hello, Angie here!  I am thrilled to be able to share my first post for Red Rubber Designs!

I had a BLAST using the outrageously cute "Hello Day"  stamp set.  I chose the  colorful Kaleidoscope Girlz Paper Stack for a quick and easy base then paper pieced the handbag from a coordinating piece from the stack.

I decided to do some 3D paper piecing so I stamped the image three times.  Then colored and cut pieces out for added dimension.  Using a stylus with a ball tip, I rounded the paper pieces on the back side.

For the dress, I rounded the edges and popped it up with foam.

I couldn't stop with the piecing.  I added glossy accents to glasses and shoes!  Check out that shine!

I was super delighted to be able to deliver this card personally to my sis.  Her reaction was priceless!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Take Pride Card

I just LOVE elephants, especially baby ones, so I stamped some on this card that I made for my sons' last day of school! He's 13 and going into 8th grade, so I thought this image was perfect for him, showing the baby elephant, and the adult elephant, which he's turning into. A little adult that is, not an an elephant. Lol!

To color the background, I used my blending tool and Distress Inks onto white cardstock. Then I dipped a brush in water to make streaks in the sky. To make the sun, I simply inked yellow around a white circle, and stamped the sentiment inside, using the Take Pride stamp set from Red Rubber Designs, which also includes the elephants. I stamped the big elephant onto grey paper, and used a white Sakura Souffle pen for his tusks and nails. Then I  fussy-cut him out of the grass he was on, so I could create a longer border of grass with the Mountain Scenery stamp. To give it an African feel, I hand-stitched the black zigzag border onto some burlap where I frayed the ends.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Telescoping Butterflies and Flowers

Hello!  Barb here to share some weekly Inspiration featuring Red Rubber Designs stamps!
Today I made a Telescoping panel card using Happily Grateful.

Before I started Stamping I wanted to work out my design on a piece
of plain white paper the size of largest cream colored card stock.

Now place on top of each other the 3 sizes of cream card stock working largest to smallest on top, centering each one with a bit of tape in center of each one.

First stamp sentiment in lower right corner of smallest piece of card stock. Then stamp butterflies first, then vines and lastly flowers, leaves then dots.

When finished stamping, take apart the 3 pieces of card stock and adhere colored cardstock in co-ordinating colors on the back of each panel. Now put all 3 panels together in a telescoping manner.

I added foam tape to back of each panel to enhance telescoping effect! Doing an all over design with a sentiment is all the rage right now.
So give it a try!  Really fun!

Happily Grateful + Joyful Notes

Hello, friends!  It's NEWBIE Mynn here with my first card for this fabulous team!  I've used two wonderful sets from the Red Rubber Designs online store to create my card today, along with a fun technique that is easy to utilize!  Come and take a peek...

These butterflies are from the beautiful Happily Grateful stamp set.  Isn't is just stunning?!  SO versatile, too!  To create this beautiful mottled effect, I used reinkers on a baby wipe to create a custom ink pad.  Here's a quick step by step on how to make this type of ink pad:

  1. Place baby wipe onto a clear acrylic block. (It will be cleaner that way.)
  2. Drop your desired inks in a random pattern.  I start with darkest, then fill in the blank spaces with the lightest.
  3. Lay your stamp onto the "ink pad" and press gently.  DO NOT tap.
  4. Stamp the image onto your cardstock, using even pressure.
  5. Use your image for your project.  As you can see, I had some stamped directly onto my card base, and some onto another piece of card that I fussy cut and layered.
I popped my fussy cut butterfly up with some dimensional foam.  I added some clear iridescent sequins to accent the pretty colors and I love the sparkle and shine!

The sentiment I used is from the Joyful Notes stamp set.  This is an amazing sentiment set that has something for almost every single occasion!  I LOVE the fun mix of fonts in this set. :)

I am very happy with the way this card turned out.  It's clean, fresh, simple, and will mail well!  The butterfly image and sentiment look wonderful together--all of Pam's stamps do!  Go and grab them from the Red Rubber Designs store today!

That's all for me today, friends!  I will be back soon with another creation using more amazing products from the Red Rubber Designs store.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Some Changes to the Blog for 2015

Hello, everyone!

If you’ve read our current Inspirational post, you know that this is our last stamping challenge.

You can find this post here - the deadline to submit your project is Wednesday, June 3, Midnight U.S. Central time.

There have been some unexpected changes with the team: Lynda and Melissa have had to step down due to personal matters. We hate to lose them, but family always comes first! Lynda has been our Inspiration Team Champion for over a year and did a great job.

Two new designers have joined Drea and Barb on the Inspiration Team: Mynn Kitchen and Angie Bode. Welcome Mynn and Angie! I think you’ll find their work very inspiring! You can find out more about them on Our Inspiration Team page.

With these changes come more changes: I’ve decided to shift the blog’s focus away from challenges while keeping the stamping inspiration. Every Thursday one of the Inspiration Team members will post a project that will hopefully inspire you to pick up your stamps and play!

Trends come and go, but stamping never goes out of style. Whether it’s a handmade card, scrapbook page, art journal or some other project, your stamps can be used to create a beautiful piece of art.

I hope you’ll continue to join us as we move forward with stamping in 2015!
