Fall is Here!

Happy Thursday to you!
Angie here with a Fall themed card to share with you!

In Georgia, the leaves are beginning to change color and the temps are slightly cooler which means my favorite time of year is here!  In celebration of the change of seasons, I decided to feature the beautifully etched Yester Years rubber stamp and give the trees Fall colors.

For today's inspiration, I searched "old western town art" on Pinterest and found a photo of a red-roofed barn surrounded by golden Aspen trees.  With that photo acting as inspiration, I used Inktense pencils to watercolor this beautiful image.  After layering  Sun and Sicilian yellow ink, I decided to stray from the inspiration photo and add Hot Red ink to the trees.

You can find new arrivals and Yester Years stamp sets, along with many past favorites in the Red Rubber Designs Online Store.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Victorian Collage Canvas

Drea here with my very first attempt at a canvas, which I created for my mom's birthday, who loves everything vintage, especially victorian!

I started by painting the canvas a renaissance brown, with a metallic finish, and then sprayed it with some Distress Spray Stain, (antiqued bronze). Then I used a stencil to apply gesso, in which I added Distress Reinker (broken china). Once dry, I stamped some script over the whole canvas in dark brown ink using the Beauty of a Woman stamp.

On the kraft background, I spritzed some more sprays, and used copper embossing powder with the Vintage Backgrounds stamp. I hand stitched around the torn edges, and added some copper buttons that once belonged to my late grandma, (my mom's mom) along the corners. The main image was stamped with the Victorian Collage stamp onto cream cardstock, and colored with pearlescent chalks. To her necklace, I added a charm that I tore apart from a bracelet, adding the blue bling to the center ring. I matted the image with two layers of punching, machine stitched the zigzag on top, and popped it up with some pop dots.

To make the flowers, I used the same copper embossing powder with the Medallions stamp, onto white cardstock, which I inked with Distress Inks (broken china, antique linen, and tea dye).  Then I fussy cut them, curled the petals up, and added some blue bling to the centers.

This was such a fun project to work on, and I can't wait to give it to my mom!

Nature Of Things

Hi there,

Barb here to share two cards to get you inspired to create some art and maybe to get your Fall or Christmas cards started!  The Stamp set I am showcasing is All Things Of Nature.

I chose to use the cardinal from the set All Things Of Nature  and I used distress markers by coloring right onto the rubber stamp with a few different colors, then I spritzed it with water and then stamped it onto watercolor paper. I colored and stamped just the sprigs in the corners.  Great water color effect and very easy!

The sentiment is stamped with StazOn black.  Makes a fabulous fall or winter card. This set All Things Of Nature  has 5 different birds for all times of year and the sentiment is included.

The second card features the same set All Things Of Nature and the same bird (the cardinal) but I wanted to make a Christmas card.  I stamped the cardinal and die cut it and then colored it.  The Greeting is from Contemporary Greetings that I stamped and embossed in copper.

Hope you enjoyed my creations today! Stop back next week to see what the team has for you!
Happy Stamping!

Batty For Halloween!

Hi, friends!  I'm super excited to be back today with another card using the Batty Good stamp set from the Red Rubber Designs online store!  Take a peek at the finished creation...

I first stamped the image from the Batty Good set onto white cardstock, then created a mask to place over the stamped image so I could sponge a background.  I did this because I wanted the moon to stay white and so that I could add glitter. ;)  The branch and bats were water colored, and some glossy accents were added to the bat eyes.

The sentiment is from the Label Lingo Occasions set.  I stamped it over a panel I made using some paper from the Fruit Punch QwikPax and the background stamp from the Batty Good set.  I highlighted it with a glitter gel pen for added texture and shine. :)

Some bat shaped sequins and orange rhinestones in various sizes were added down the side to pull everything together.  Super fun!

I really adore this fun card--and the Fruit Punch QwikPax papers really made the work easier!  I LOVE using patterned paper to add texture and as a springboard for color combos, don't you?  Please feel free to leave me a comment below to let me know your thoughts on this card. :)

Thank you so much for stopping by, all!  I hope you hop over to the Red Rubber Designs store to grab all these goodies and make some Halloween greetings today!  I'll be back next month with more inspiration for you! :)  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping!
