Holly New Year's Greetings

Hi, friends!  Happy New Year's Eve!  I know that Christmas is past, but I still feel it's the "holiday" season, so I have a seasonal greeting to share with you to ring in the New Year!  Take a peek...

This card uses the beautiful Glorious Holiday stamp set.  I stamped the holly, water colored it, then fussy cut it out before adding a bit of dimension and adding it to my focal panel.  I put some cheesecloth underneath the image for a bit more texture, as well as a smattering of pearls to accent the image and add some elegance.

The image was stamped, then I punched on end to make it look a bit like a banner.  I added it directly to the gussied up card base because I thought the contrast was super pretty.  I hope you agree!

A few other bits were added to this card to add texture and finish--a half doily and some pleated ribbon.  I just love how elegant this looks, and I hope you like it, too!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts. :)

That's all for me today, friends!  I hope you have a wonderful day and spend lots of time with your loved ones. :)  I'll be back again later with more creations using products from the Red Rubber Designs store.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Sew Thoughtful

Hello, Friends!   Can you believe that Christmas Eve is one week from today?  For the most part, your Christmas cards are probably created and mailed so I thought it would be fun to depart from Holiday greetings and get a jump start on those "thank you" cards!

I chose the lovely Sew Thoughtful stamp set and added lots of pink!!!

I used distress inks and water to create my tag, then once dried I stamped the dress form on the tag.  Ribbons, lace, tulle and some distressing finish off a pretty in pink, thank you card!

That's it for me today.  I hope you are enjoying the season!  Before I go I will leave you with a look at the beautiful Sew Thoughtful stamp set, and it's companion stamp Sew Thankful.

Hugs,
Ang

Holidays Wreath Card Set

Stamping is so easy and versatile for making Christmas cards, as you can make a lot at once, yet change it up with different colors of ink or embossing powders! I personally get bored doing repetitive cards over the holidays, so I kept the same design here, but added different colors of paint, ribbons, and embossing powders, featuring the Holiday Wreath Unmounted Stamp Set from Red Rubber Designs. Holiday Wreath is the Spotlight Stamp for December which means you can get it for 40% off it's regular price with any order!

These cards were made with Kraft Cardstock, and dry painted with two different colors of paint in a vertical line to mimic wood grain. The base of the cards were cut at 3-3/4" X 5-1/4". Then I cut a rectangle at 3-1/4" X 4-3/4", and scored lines 1/4" away on the back side, to make it look like a panel on a door. I used Palette inks around the edges and over the scored lines, to really bring it out. Before adhering the cut panel to the card, I added a brad to the right for the door knobs. Then I embossed the wreaths on the doors, as well as the sentiment in the center. To finish them off, I added some Stickles on the wreaths, with a bow on top, made from ribbon.

Here's a closer look at the scored lines on the blue card! To save time you could always use a wood grain paper, instead of painting, and ink for your stamping, instead of embossing powders.

Silhouette Nativity

Hi there,

Welcome to the Red Rubber Designs Thursday Inspirations! Today I'm featuring this lovely stamp set called Silhouette Nativity found HERE. The sentiment is from With His Glory stamp set found HERE.

Here's how I made this card: First I started with the background using distress inks in Gathered Twigs, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire onto white card stock. I planned my layout on a separate piece of paper. When I was happy with placement I started with the crèche, stamping it in about lower center.

I masked off the crèche and then added the animals to either side and palm trees last.  You can also use a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for placement. Then I stamped the star and angel. I added stars with a white gel pen and added the sentiment.

Oh! Christmas Tree (and Happy Thanksgiving!)

First off, HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Red Rubber Designs fans!  I'm here today to share a wintry holiday card to get your holiday crafting mojo going...if you have time to do so today! ;)  Take a peek...

For my card, I used the Oh Christmas Tree stamp set.  I stamped the solid tree image in a deep green ink, then stamped the "snow" image over the top and heat embossed it with glittery powder.

I added a gold embossed star to the top of each tree, then did a bit of water coloring for the sky, made a faux stitched border, and layered the sentiment over the panel.

Some patterned paper and doily quarters added some more color and texture.  I think this card is super fun--the colors meshed so well together!  I love all the different textures, too. :)  I hope you like it, also!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts!

That's all for me today, friends!  I hope you have a wonderful day and spend lots of time with your loved ones. :)  I'll be back again later with more creations using products from the Red Rubber Designs store.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Christmas Rocking Horse

Happy Thursday to you! Angie here with a Christmas card to share today. I am a little behind in my Christmas card making so I decided to turn this cute Rocking Horse image into a Christmas rocking horse.

Although I chose to color the little flower on the rocker in traditional Christmas colors it's actually not a poinsettia which allows for great versatility! This image would be lovely for a baby or children's card, as well as a Christmas card!

To finish off my project I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Vintage Santa unmounted stamp set and added ribbons. (This sentiment can also be found in the Vintage Christmas cling mount stamp set.)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving Card

With Thanksgiving just two weeks away, there's still time to create a card for your loved ones. I know I'm not able to spend the day with everyone I'd like to, so making a card for them instead is a great way to show you care.

I'm so thankful for being part of such a wonderful design team, and working with such fabulous stamps from Red Rubber Designs! I used the Give Thanks stamp to make the cornucopia, inking it with brown ink onto white cardstock, and embossing it with clear embossing powder. To really make it pop, I colored it with some Distress Inks and markers, glued it to my tag, and added some ribbon.

To make the background, I sprayed some parchment paper with some mists, and dragged a piece of kraft cardstock through it. Then I dripped some orange mist from the top. Along the bottom I created a border of leaves with the Autumn Leaves stamp. To the tag and background I stamped my sentiment using Contemporary Greetings.

Since I have so much rafia and it just screams Fall to me, I glued some to the bottom of my card, and used my sewing machine to stitch the ends and all around the background. The flowers were stamped and embossed in two layers using the Pressed Flowers stamp set. Then I hand stitched some brown buttons to the centers.

For those of you that celebrate it, have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas Choo Choo

Hi everyone,

Barb here to share a Christmas card designed for the guy or boy in your life.  I don't know about you but I always have trouble creating cards for him!  I think this stamp is just perfect for boys!  It's called Train Collage and can be found Here in the shop.

I stamped the Train Collage onto watercolor paper using StazOn black ink and just watercolored it. I then cut around the border and backed it with red shiny paper. The Poinsettias are from a set called Hung On A Tree.

I stamped those as well onto watercolor paper and embossed with black fine embossing powder, watercolored and fussy cut them out and adhered to card. The sentiment is from Contemporary Greetings my favorite sentiment set.

I stamped Merry Christmas on vellum and embossed it with black fine embossing powder and made it into a banner backed with red shiny paper. I added some red shiny twine and it's done! What do you think?

Give Thanks!

Hello, friends!  I know we are just 2 days away from Halloween, but I wanted to share a fun technique and a Thanksgiving card to get you in the giving mood--that's really what all holidays are about, right?! :)  I used some gorgeous stamps from the Red Rubber Designs store and a fun technique I'll share with you...take a peek...

I went with a very neutral color scheme on this card.  I started by stamping the acorn images from the Give Thanks set in dark brown ink as a border all the way around a piece of kraft cardstock.

To create the blurred vision feel on these images, here's what I did:

  1. Stamped the images in a dark ink onto lighter cardstock.
  2. Took a water color pen and outlined each image.
EASY, PEASY!!!  It helps to use a water soluble ink and not a permanent ink when utilizing this technique.  You also want to make sure it's not an after thought--you really need to outline the images as soon as you are done stamping them.  It takes a bit of time, but I LOVE the vintage feel this technique lends to any image OR sentiment...

To make sure the sentiment could POP off the card, I first added some gold washi behind it.  This also added some shine. :)  A few gold sequins were added, and then I placed the completed panel onto a card base that was prepped with some paper from the Catelynne collection.  LOVE the gorgeous distressed feel of that paper with the blurred vision technique on the images!

Thank you so much for popping by today, friends!  That is all for me right now, but I will be back soon with more inspiration using gorgeous products from the Red Rubber Designs store!  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends!
