Merry Christmas 2013!

It's been a busy holiday season so far for Red Rubber Designs!

First I want to thank everyone who submitted their application for the Red Rubber Designs Inspiration Team - there was such a wealth of talent to choose from! It was a difficult decision to pick just a few.

But choose we must and now I have the pleasure of introducing our new Team!

Of course, you remember Lynda Lindley, our new Inspiration Team Champion. She has done a tremendous amount of work getting us ready for 2014. I couldn't do it without her! You can also find her on her blog: Positive Force.

And now the rest of our Inspiration Team:

Mary Anne Guth - you can find Mary Anne on her blog: Sparkly Train

Kendra Sand - you can Kendra on her blog: Luv 2 Scrap n' Make Cards

Drea Slee - you can find Drea on her blog: Drea's Scraps of Inspiration

I am so excited to have these ladies on my Team! We'll tell you more about them in January.

I am also excited to tell you what this fabulous Team will be doing - I know you're going to like it! You may have noticed the recent change in our blog banner which gives a hint of what's to come. (If you're reading this in your blog reader, come on over and take a look - http://blog.red-rubber-designs.com)

Beginning on Thursday, January 9, 2014, we're introducing a new challenge blog: Red Rubber Inspirationals - right here on the Red Rubber Designs blog! And our mission statement should sound familiar: Enabling and inspiring YOU to create art!

We want to inspire you to pick up your stamps and USE them. We want you to know that any and every style of creating is unique and OKAY - that there is no "right" or "wrong". We want to show you that yes, YOU can create something beautiful with rubber stamps!

Won't you join us? We'll have lots more information and additional details in early January, so be sure to check in then!

I also want to remind you of the HUGE Inventory Blowout Sale going on now at Red Rubber Designs - designer paper, card stock, embellishments, tools and more are at least half off their already-low prices. Many items have already sold out, so don't delay as this is a fantastic opportunity to stock up on those crafty items you need.

And did you see? There are some new Cling Mount Rubber Stamps in the store, and we have a new Spotlight Stamp (at 40% off the normal price). There are also quite a few stamps on clearance. This is the last time these designs will be available in rubber, so get them while you can!

I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season!

And I have a little present for you: Use the coupon code MERRY in your shopping cart through Christmas, and you'll get an extra 10% off of everything - even sale & clearance items! Ho ho ho! (Coupon code good through Dec. 25, 2013.)

See you in 2014!

I Am Thankful!

I hope all of my U.S. friends are having a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, filled with family and friends... and a little stamping!

As for me, I am very thankful for all of my stamping friends, all over the world - some of whom I've never met in person, but that doesn't seem to matter, does it?

I am thankful for my customers and their continued support over the last two years. Red Rubber Designs is nothing without you!

And I am thankful for my design team - past and present! They have represented Red Rubber Designs beautifully and continue to do so. I can't ask for better!

On a more personal note, I am very thankful for my family and my husband. DH is always willing (well, mostly!) to help me in the shop - I wouldn't be able to get it all done without him!

And speaking of design teams - did you know that Lynda (my new Inspiration Team Champion) and I are currently looking for a few good stampers? That's right - Red Rubber Designs is having a design team call for our Inspiration Team! Do you want to have some fun, work with some great rubber stamps and help to inspire and enable others to create art? Then please consider submitting your application to be on our Team! Deadline is Dec. 8, so don't delay!

I also want to take a few moments to remind everyone about some fun things going on here at Red Rubber Designs. I alluded to some changes last summer, and they are still going on: I have great plans for the future and continue to work hard to create stamping fun for you.

So far I've introduced Cling Mount Rubber Stamps and will continue to add more as time goes by. These are deeply-etched, high-quality rubber stamps already mounted on cling cushion and cut out - ready for you to start stamping as soon as your Red Rubber Designs happy mail arrives! I love that!

I've also opened a digital shop where you can get some old favorites and new, original stamp and paper designs! Be sure to visit and see what I've got there for you - and here's an incentive: Use coupon code THANKFUL to get 25% off of everything in the digital store! Be sure to put the coupon code in your shopping cart before going to checkout as I am unable to apply the coupon for you after the order is placed. Coupon code is good through Wednesday, December 4.

You may have heard about the Inventory Blowout Sale we're having in the store - there are currently over 240 products at least 50% off, and I'm still adding items to the sale! We have sold out of several items, so shop early to stock up on the crafting and stamping items that you need. Once it's gone, it's GONE! I want to drastically reduce the inventory I have on hand, which means fantastic savings for you!

Also, something new in the store: Clearance Stamps! There are over 120 unmounted stamp sets on sale. Again, once they are gone, they are GONE! So if you want these designs in deeply-etched rubber stamps, get them while you can!

I'm not restricting the savings to Black Friday or Cyber Monday - I'm extending these savings through the rest of the year! (Or while supplies last, anyway!)

I know at this point there you are probably wondering and I'll answer it here: No, Red Rubber Designs is NOT going out of business! I am simply putting my priorities (and my shop!) in order to continue to do what I love: Stamp. And to inspire others to stamp and create art!

Stay tuned as we move forward into the new year - I have some more fun things up my sleeve! I wish you the best the holidays have to offer, and don't forget to take time to stamp!

Introducing our New Inspiration Team Champion!

I want to thank everyone who participated in my Inspiration Team Champion call! I appreciate your interest in working with Red Rubber Designs, but unfortunately, I could only choose one person.

I'd like to introduce you her to you now: Lynda Lindley, the new Inspiration Team Champion for Red Rubber Designs!

Meet Lynda:

Hi, I'm Lynda and I have been crafting for over twenty years; starting out first stamping and then expanding into all areas of paper crafting.  I currently live in Washington state with my husband, two daughters and one crazy smart dog.  I am a self proclaimed challenge junkie and don’t feel grounded unless I'm creating something.

When I'm not stamping, painting, beading, knitting, or scrapbooking, I can often be seen with inky fingers volunteering at my daughters' schools.  I am so excited to be part of the Red Rubber Design team as the Inspiration Team Champion.  I look forward to sharing my creations and inspiration with you.  You can find me online at http://positive-force.blogspot.com/

With Lynda's help, I'm looking forward to some fun, new challenges ahead for Red Rubber Designs!

New Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps for November

Have you noticed? There are some NEW cling mounted rubber stamps available now at Red Rubber Designs!

I've been slowly sneaking them in. These aren't just new CLING stamps (although there are some of those), but also brand NEW stamps released for the first time.

Over the next few weeks I'll continue to release more NEW stamps for Christmas. I know, it seems a little late - but better late than never! (I keep telling myself that!)

Since I ship really fast - the next business day (or sooner!) after you place your order - there is still plenty of time to purchase that perfect stamp for your Christmas cards, tags and gifts. And we all like happy mail!

There is also a new Big Deal in the store. Have you heard about our Big Deals? I usually have some sort of Big Deal going on, which are really good deals on select products: Our current Big Deal is 30% off of all Designer Patterned paper. This is in addition to the really low regular prices, and even includes our mini album and matchbook kits. And no coupon needed!

Here's a hint: If you ever want to know what our current Big Deal is, just check out the front page of the store. If there's a Deal in place (and there usually is), it's listed right there with a link to the products on sale.

Do you know that I'm still offering our Spotlight Stamps? Just like our Big Deal, I usually have a Spotlight Stamp in place. The Spotlight Stamp highlights one stamp in the store - and you can get it for 40% off, added to any order. The Spotlight Stamp changes when the Big Deal changes, so there's always something new.

And I can't leave you without reminding you that U.S. shipping is just $5 every day - and FREE for orders over $50! That's a good deal any way you look at it, especially since shipping costs continue to rise. Even Amazon has raised their free shipping threshold!

Some reminders:

The Red Rubber Designs Inspiration Team Champion Call (whew! Say that three times fast!) is still going on - deadline is November 10, so if you think you're a good fit (or know someone who is), don't delay applying!

Like digital stamps and papers? Visit our new digital store: Red Rubber Digitals. I try to put in new product each week, so keep checking back!

Have a good weekend, and don't stop stamping!

P.S. - Have you shared your Red Rubber Designs Wish List with the gift-givers in your life? You should!

Introducing Red Rubber Digitals!

I've been working on this for a couple of months now - back in August I alluded to some new things happening that I couldn't talk about yet, but now I can!

I am so pleased to introduce to you a "sister" website to Red Rubber Designs:

Pickled Potpourri

I am so excited to finally be able to release this new site after a lot of work! Designing the website didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked and it took me longer than I anticipated.

But now the hard work is done and the fun begins! If you like high-quality digital products - stamps, images, clip art, patterned designer paper and more - you'll love Pickled Potpourri!

There are some old favorites available - with more to come - but best of all.....

There are NEW and ORIGINAL Pickled Potpourri designs!

And I'm putting more designs in the store on a regular basis. Come on over and take a look and let me know what you think!

Q&A About our New Cling Mount Rubber Stamps

Hey, everyone! I've had some questions regarding our new Cling Mount Rubber Stamps, so I thought I'd answer them here, just in case you were wondering, too!

Q: Now that you have Cling Mount stamps, will you still sell unmounted rubber stamps?

A: I still have plenty of unmounted rubber stamps in the store. These will continue to sell until they are sold out. However, all new stamps will be provided as Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps, as this is what the majority of my customers tell me they want.

Cling Mounted stamps also give me more flexibility in how I offer these stamps to you, giving you more choices. This flexibility helps me keep the cost down for you, as well.

Q: Are your cling-mounted stamps indexed on the cling side?

A: No, they are not indexed. However, you'll find that our new cling mount stamps are cut very close - close enough to see what you're stamping, where. And close enough to give you a perfectly stamped image every time.

Below is one of the stamps in our Tree Silhouettes set. On the left is the rubber side and on the right is the back of the stamp (with the paper backing still attached). As you can see, it wouldn't be at all difficult to stamp this tree right where you want it. I think you'll be pleased with our new cling stamps - I am!

Do you have more questions? Ask them in the comments!

Warehouse Sale!

Hi, everybody! Can you believe it's August already? Where is this year going??

Things have been busy in the shop! I've got some fun things coming up for you all, but it's taking a little bit longer than I anticipated. I hope to be back soon to let you know what's coming up for Red Rubber Designs!

For now, though - I'd like to make some room in the shop for NEW things. I have lots of overstock crafting supplies that I'd love for YOU to have, so I'm having a Warehouse Sale!

I have three Warehouse Sale boxes available: Two large and one smaller one - filled with all sorts of crafting goodness from the shop! There are no stamps in the boxes, but they are stocked full with inks, stamping tools, crafting tools, embellishments, hardware and lots more!

Any of the boxes make a perfect starter kit for a new crafter or will enhance the supplies you already have. There is a good range of product in each box. There are few duplications between the three boxes, however if you were to purchase two of a box (two each of Box #1, for example) you will definitely get duplicates. But if you were to buy all three boxes, you would get a wide range of product with few duplicates.

And best of all - each Warehouse Sale boxes are for sale at greatly a reduced price! You couldn't buy all this product individually for these prices! And the price includes shipping!

These Warehouse Sale Boxes are available through Friday, August 9, 2013 - or while supplies last.

The inevitable fine print:

U.S. shipping only.

We cannot accept item requests, nor can items be swapped or substituted. Due to the deep discounts on these boxes, all sales are final - we cannot cancel your order once placed and no returns or refunds will be given.

The Warehouse Sale Boxes are NOT eligible for free shipping, so they will not count towards your order subtotal for this purpose if ordered with other products.

The Warehouse Sale Box may be shipped separately when ordered with other products.

What a Week!

This has been a horrible week for many of us. Between the Boston marathon bombing and a devastating explosion and fire in West, Texas and as I write this, a huge manhunt in the Boston area - it's been crazy! I don't know about you, but I've been glued to the news on television all week. My heart goes out to everyone affected by these events and I hope that all involved can heal and find peace.

As I mentioned in my Spring Cleaning post, Thursday is a big day here at Red Rubber Designs. Although I didn't get this post completed yesterday - just too much going on - I wanted to remind you to take a look at our newest offerings.

This week's Spotlight Stamp is "Light the Path". This stamp set features a collection of lighthouses and are perfect for creating cards and other projects for the men in your life.

We have new Featured Stamps, too. Every week I release new stamps and they are featured here so you don't miss them.

And don't forget about this week's Big Deal: 40% OFF individual acrylic blocks. Now's the time to get those block sizes you need!

I've also added some items to our Sale Page - you should check this page often, as you never know what will turn up here.

As always, all orders over $50 are shipped FREE and everything else is only $5 within the U.S. (See our Shipping Information page for details.) Some online stores have specials like this, but we offer it ALL the time!

This month's theme at Red Rubber Designs is "For Men Only". Here is a card I created and gave to my brother for his birthday:

I hope you are able to take a break for yourself and partake in some "stamp therapy" this weekend!

Spring Cleaning at Red Rubber Designs

Spring has finally sprung! Today we're having some of those April showers but I expect a very nice weekend with warmer temps which will be most welcome! I'm ready for Spring to show itself, aren't you?

I can't believe that Red Rubber Designs has celebrated its first birthday already and I'm so glad that you could celebrate with us. I had a great time with the fun sales and giveaway (a BIG congratulations to Helen Dooley, who won the Copic markers)! And while I said goodbye to my awesome Design Team of the past year, I am looking forward to what comes next.

Over the past month or so, I've eluded to some changes I'll be making here at Red Rubber Designs - changes that I hope you'll like!

As I continue with my "Spring cleaning" I wanted to let you know about a couple of changes that have taken place already:

  • Our monthly Big Deal is now a weekly sale. This is so exciting, because there will be a new BIG sale (savings of up to 40% OFF our already-low prices on select items!) every week, starting on Thursday evenings. Each weekly Big Deal runs through the next Wednesday. Then on Thursday I'll offer another Big Deal!
  • You may have already noticed this one - new stamps are released in the store every Thursday. And now each week, the newly-released stamps will be our Featured Stamps, so you can't miss them! Not only that, I'm also showcasing them on the front page of the store. Now it will be easier than ever to see what's new!
  • Be sure to check our New Arrivals link as well - this link shows you everything new in the store over the last two weeks. This gets updated every Thursday and not only features the newest stamp releases, but also new product releases.
  • And let's not forget our Spotlight Stamp! You guessed it - we'll have a new Spotlight Stamp every week! Our Spotlight Stamp is always 40% OFF the regular price when added to any order!
  • We still have our monthly theme, and you'll continue to see stamp designs that reflect our theme for the month. Our monthly theme can always be found on the front page of the store.
  • Even though shipping costs have risen considerably, I haven't change your cost for shipping within the U.S.:  Orders over $50 still ship FREE and everything else in the U.S. ships for only $5.00! (Please see our SHIPPING INFORMATION page for more details.)

Have you noticed? I seem to like THURSDAYS! So be sure to check the Red Rubber Designs store on Thursday evenings to find out the newest releases and sales!

Note: Please don't be disappointed if you come by the store during the day on Thursdays and don't find anything new - that's when I'll be busy working on putting up the new information for you. Everything should be switched over to the new week's releases and sales by Thursday evening!

That's all for now... I hope you enjoy the changes I've made - I've love to hear from you! I've got some more awesome plans on the horizon. Be sure to follow our blog and our Facebook page so you'll be the first to know about them!

Tutorial Tuesday: Creating Tags For Scrapbooks

I love using tags on my scrapbook pages and find I can create gorgeous ones of my own with some of my favorite rubber stamps and ink. I usually create a variety and then have them on hand as I go about my scrapbooking.

In this tutorial we'll see how stamps from Red Rubber Designs work beautifully in creating such tags.

You'll first want to gather a variety of tags in different sizes.   I also like the library pocket that comes from the Pockets & Pieces cardstock punchout set.  It holds several different sized tags.

Next, gather some of the stamps you'll be using.  I chose a couple different background stamps, images, words, etc.

Finally, you'll want to select several colors of coordinating ink.   The Palette inks work well for this project.

Some of your tags can begin with stamped backgrounds.

You can add small photo frames, journaling spots and phrases or images to
your tags.

The Memories set from Red Rubber Designs has great word stamps for scrapbook tags.

Fabulous Frames will give you a variety of frames to add small photo spots to your tags.

The journaling lines from the Punctuation rubber stamp set gets a lot of use from me.   It can be used singularly or stamped repetitively for a longer journaling spot.

More samples of tags.  I especially like the "Remember This" stamp from the Fanciful Vintage set. I also used images from Fly Fairy and Just Bee-Cuz here.

As you can see, by adding images as well as words you can also create some cool embellishments for your pages.

Finally, I stamped on the library pocket from the Pockets & Pieces set (Ancient Map and Fly Fairy) and stamped  two tags to fit inside.  Once again, I used my "Remember This" stamp as well as frames from the Fabulous Frames.

I hope this tutorial helped inspire you to pull out your stamps and start stamping some tags to include on your scrapbook pages!

Good through Sunday, Mar 24

I've never believed in celebrating birthdays for just one day, so this First Birthday Celebration will last through the weekend! All sales are good through Sunday, March 24!

Be sure to watch here on our Blog (do you Follow us?) and our Facebook page (have you LIKED us?).... because you never know what other ways I might find to celebrate - and you won't want to miss it! (Really. Don't miss it. You'll regret it if you do - trust me!)

Happy First Birthday!

It has certainly been an exciting first year at Red Rubber Designs! Today is our first birthday - our online store opened one year ago, today!

We have some fun and fabulous things in store for you so that you can help us celebrate! But first, I'd like to take a walk down memory lane...

I couldn't have done this alone. This past year I have been blessed with an amazingly talented Design Team! They have worked hard all year creating so many incredible projects featuring rubber stamps and patterned paper from Red Rubber Designs. I cannot say enough good things about these girls: They are all magnificent! And not only creatively - I am also blessed to be able to call them friends.

These ladies have been with me for the past year, but sadly their time with Red Rubber Designs is coming to a close. Their term is up at the end of this month, but I thought it would be fun to showcase their awesome talent with you today. And, I've asked each one of them to choose their favorite project(s) over the last year and share it with you - so please take a few moments to visit each of their blogs (linked below) to see what they've picked!

Everyone did such a wonderful job - it is so difficult to choose just one project!

Sarah Hemphill, Vintage Figments
Sarah's beautifully elegant style shines through everything she does. Her projects most often display her vintage flair, but she also demonstrates her ability to create in other styles as well. Sarah was a huge blessing to me as she was my Design Team Coordinator over the last year. I'm not sure I would have managed without her!

Happiness of Life

Kate Yetter, The Scrap Yard
Kate often wowed me with her intriguing and beautiful mixed-media backgrounds. She turned every stamped image into something spectacular and continuously shows off different ways to create with rubber stamps.

Easter Chicks

Louise Granlund, Kard Krazy Louise creates with a soft, romantic expression which makes all of her projects lovely to look at. She's been published many times by top stamping magazines and with good reason!

Beauty of a Woman

Paula-Kay Bourland, Creative Stamping with Paula-Kay I call Paula-Kay the Queen of Copics! She has truly mastered the art of coloring stamped images and her projects really showcase her color skills. Cardmaking is her passion and it shows - they are gorgeous.

Wonder and Joy

Diana Queen, Wordbird's Nest Diana's projects can be easily defined by one word: Pretty! Everything she does has her feminine touch all over it - from the beautifully colored stamp images to her use of bows and other bling.

Lovely Peony

These ladies are also responsible for the many fantastic tutorials created for you and posted here on the Red Rubber Designs Blog. They have worked hard and I cannot thank them enough! Please continue to visit their blogs - you won't be disappointed!

I will be back soon with MORE - don't miss our Birthday Celebration - stay tuned!

Blog Hop Winner

We have a winner for our March Blog Hop contest.  The contest was to guess how many pieces of sugary goodness were (I say "were" because they aren't there anymore....mmmm) in the candy dish.

We had 2 participants send in the same guess of 217 so had a random draw to decide who wins the Spotlight Stamp set Easter Chicks.

The winner of the draw is Barbra of Stampin My Heart Out.  Congratulations, Barbra!  Please contact Pam at contest@RedRubberDesigns.com to collect your prize.

Oh, the number of candies? 279.

Tutorial Tuesday: Konnichiwa Stamped Gift Box Topper

Create your own stamped Gift Box Toppers ~ our tutorial shows you how you can customize your gift packages beautifully!

Start by stamping your focal images twice. I used the Konnichiwa stamp set from the Red Rubber Designs store.

If you will be using alcohol markers for coloring, the Memento Tuxedo Black is a good ink pad to use.

Choose your patterned papers then color your stamped images to coordinate. I used the Rustic Chic Collection from Red Rubber Designs.

Now cut out your images. You should have a colored and a plain of each image.

Sandwich the two layers together using dimensional tape.

Glue a strip of your patterned paper to the front and back of a smooth clothespin.

Attach your focal image to the front of your clothes pin with glue dots.

And now you have you finished gift box toppers… clip one to your package or gift bag.

Adorable!
